Why is the movie Wolf with Jack Nichlson rated "R"?

I mean, does it have stuff like sex in it?

I've seen the movie a long time ago, but i never remembered anything too 'bad' in it.

SEX/NUDITY 3 - Nicholson and Pfeiffer sleep together; no nudity, just one brief underwear shot for Pfeiffer. Bondage sex is implied. A woman is shown with her top unbuttoned, but nothing shows.

VIOLENCE/GORE 7 - A wolf bites Nicholson. The werewolf stalks and kills a deer, breaking its back and biting its throat. He also attacks men in a park, and severs several of his victim's fingers (the fingers turn up again later). A person is run over by a truck, and the camera lingers on it a bit; it is a little graphic. One fight is very violent: there's clawing and biting, and people are impaled with a pitchfork. One character is shot six times.

PROFANITY 6 - The F-word and other profanities are used freely.

More than likely for language. A movie can keep it's pg rating by only saying the "f" word twice any more than that it's rated "R". I've never seen the movie, but it's either that or blood.
