look in any dictionary for dynasty and u will see the word succession. now i not sure where u spurs people went to school but succession means in a row. maybe if they had got to the finals the years they didn't win then u could say they had a dynasty over the west. but 4 out of 9 years thats sort of stretching the word dynasty. maybe team of the decade but come on get real.

GIVE A LITTLE SLACK TO THE PROUD AND EXCITED FANS AND THE PRESS. A LOT HAPPENS AND IS SAID DURING EXCITEMENT.
THIS TEAM HAS WON SEVERAL **** WORLD *****CHAMPIONSHIPS IN RECENT YEARS AND HAVE A TEAM WITH SKILL , HARD WORK AND PLAYERS WE CAN LOOK UP TO.
MORE THAN WE CAN SAY ABOUT SOME OTHER PLAYERS ON OTHER TEAMS.
DON'T LET THE WORD DYNASTY BOTHER YOU..........IT'S JUST A WORD.
WHAT COUNTS IS THE TEAM AND THEY DID WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP ----AGAIN.
AND WHO DOESN'T WANT THEIR TEAM TO WIN?
WHAT GOOD WILL YOUR COMPLAINING DO?

For a retard you think you're pretty smart, but you didn't come up with this theory, you're repeating what the genius sports writers are saying. You know the ones who keep raving about Lebron James, when James stunk up the finals.
Yeah the refs were for the Spurs. Like they were in 2004 in the Lakers series where Derek Fisher catches an inbound pass, cocks the ball, aims and shoots with .04 seconds left on the clock, and wins the game. The Spurs would have been ahead 3-0 in that series, instead the Lakers come back and win and then go on to get SWEPT by the Pistons, the team that the Spurs beat 4-3 the next year.
Yeah the refs and Stern wanted the Spurs to win so the finals could have even lower ratings than in 2005 and 2003. You retards with your stupid conspiracy theories. Where did you hear that from..Rosie O'donnell?

Well, I really doubt that the Spurs will repeat. A lot of Western teams are looking to improve their team. With Portland Trailblazers, most likely drafting Greg Oden, Blazers, can make noise. With the re-emergence of, Golden State Warriors, and Warriors looking to explore in a trade with Jason Richardson. They could very well have another run.
Dallas Mavericks, are looking to get back into the Finals, and possibly make a few moves. Phoenix Suns, looks to move Shawn Marion and make some changes.
So, as the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz, looks to upgrade.
But the team I'm looking forward, is the New Orleans Hornets, they were in a position to make the playoffs, with key guys, injured.
San Antonio Spurs will have their hands full in the West. Do they have what it takes to be a Dynasty?
Now, im excited for next season.

You are right to a certain extent. But if you can win every other year, that's pretty impressive too. They won in 99, 03, 05, and 07. I agree that team of the decade would describe them but dynasty is stretching it a bit.

now i looked in the merriam-websters dictionary and one of their definitions for dynasty does mention succesion, however the second one doesn't.
2 : a powerful group or family that maintains its position for a considerable time
now although the spurs haven't been able to win year after year, they still have won 4 out of the past 9 years, and 3 in the past 5. considerable means significant (m-w) and i would say,..4 yrs out of the past 9 yrs is pretty significant.

You seem to forget that this team made it to atleast the second round of the playoffs all nine of those years. Most of the other dynasty teams had atleast a one year gap of failing to make it to the second round, including the Chicago Bulls when they did not have Jordan.
