You'll be fine. The place is swarming with police/security and tourists - chances of anything happening while on the strip are pretty slim. I was out there last year for a week by myself (company training assignment). I walked the strip everyday and had zero problems - met several nice people too. Enjoy your stay! I'm planning a return trip for my 30th b-day later this year.

your going to have to cross the highway via flamingo st I've done the walk before but not all the time to notice anything "dangerous" I don't think there is a problem walking to the palms. Las Vegas strip is not as dangerous as people think. Its just some of the residential areas that are dangerous places, like any other town. But from bellagio to the palms theres no danger.

Try to walk with someone just to be safer, but I've never had a problem at any hour in Vegas. You have to watch for drivers though, taxi drivers tend to be the worst about not stopping, just lots of honking. the walk from B to Palms is not very exciting though as Palms is off the strip. I'd pay the $5 and take a taxi. Its quicker, and you don't have to worry about getting run over. Many times we've just stood outside a hotel lobby and shared a cab with someone else going to same place, cheaper, and better to get out of a cab with someone else JUST IN CASE. Have fun

Its safe but the distance might be more that you expect. It is probably at least 2 miles and if you are in the bellagio, just get a cab and you'll be there in 3 minutes.

why walk?? there are free bus shuttles from bills gambling hall and saloon (across the road from bellagio) to the gold coast (which is directly across the road from the palms).

there is also a free bus shuttle from caesars palace to the rio (which is a short walk from the palms)

the walk itself from bellagio to palms is about a mile. the street lights are NOT as bright as the strip and you would have to walk over the access road to i15. Personally i wouldn't recommend it. we stayed in the gold coast for a week in january and didn't walk back once from the strip (tiredness probably played a big part). Taxi only costs $7 from bills gambling hall to palms btw.

The biggest concern isnt crime doing that walk, its traffic. That stretch of Flamingo is absolutely crazy right there with all of the freeway on/off traffic and at night it isnt the most well light portion of town.

Besides, you are looking at a 20 minute walk minimum which wont be exactly pleasant, I would just take the cab or the shuttle from Caesars to Rio then walk from there.

There's not sidewalks the whole way, so you'd have to walk on the shoulder of the road, and there's a LOT of crazy drivers. That would be the only unsafe thing about it.

Unless you're REALLY good at Frogger - get a cab or the Deuce.

Las Vegas is about as safe as anywhere else, there is always a risk, but, whenever I have been in LV there are always plenty of people around both day and night so I always felt safe.

Shesu is right. Although it's always best to travel with a buddy, the area's relatively safe. Kinda reminds one of Disney.
