My father is a wolf. Not the big bad wolf from the misguided European children's stories but the wolf from the native American tradition that signifies intelligence, brotherhood and vitality.

Anyone can have children, make a baby together BUT it is the person that takes care of the baby in life and is there mentally, spiritually, physically, financially as that child grows. What makes a father is someone who listens to you for hours :)) Who wants you to better your life learn how to study on your own because no one else can do this for you. To never give up when your feeling low. To spend quality time in a park in a play ground at a movie :)) To bring home bagels and donuts late at night when working a nightshift a rational smart and logical loving man :)) Godbless all the great fathers that make a difference in their kids lives :)) Enki Binki I am sure your Dad is special like you Enki Binki :)))))))))))

I can think of so many "symbols." Protector, teacher, provider...but since Father's Day is my pa's birthday...17 June, I just want to say what he meant to me. Stoic, philospher, artist, loyal, 100% honest, reliable, responsible, loving. I was born in rural Wisconsin; my pa was almost totally deprived of "acceptable" education, having come here alone at the age of 19 from Jugoslavija, from a village where the ONLY person who could read was the doctor. Yet he had more wisdom & knowledge than anyone I've ever known. He also had a wonderful, subtle sense of humour. He was the original "hippie"--we lived off the land. He grew all our vegetables, even built a smokehouse & made the best sausages in the world. He could turn the most barren piece of land into rich black soil, any plant he touched, flourished. He loved TOO much. He died too young, & needlessly (in my mind, but I'm certain he wouldn't think of it so.) I often wish I could just sit & listen to his brief, gentle, wise words. There! That's the most I've spoken of him for years. & now, it's after midnight, so, it's happy birthday & happy Father's Day to my pa. & happy Father's Day to all good fathers!

astrologically its the Sun which represents a Father.
personally, a Tree represents a father. which absorbs the harsh sun-light, the rough wind, to save the ones which grow in its shade. The shade of the tree is cool and is like a protection from all the "harsh things". "The shade", "the fruits", "the protection", "the love" forms a father for me.

Strong and has the power to spread to everyting.
But still soft and gentle and mild if you have the courage to feel it and inderstand it.

God would be best symbol
He created-he cared-he loved-he taught values---he lets us fall but he is "always there" to pick us up, brush us off, feel for us, and help us get started again.
I lost my human father too> but I have this one too.

I'm sorry you miss your dad but you can't really miss him; as once you love someone he stays in your heart forever! Just remember that and you won't have to miss him ever again! :-)
I see my dad as leader as he leads me through all my lessons in life! My dad is the wind as he carries me in the right direction! He guides the sail of my boat; helps me through rough tides; his knowledge & wisdom bestows success upon me; he shines upon me as my light; he is the angel that guards my happiness. He is the source of my life! :-)
Thank you; great questions as usual! :-)

An open wallet surrounded by 'snoring-noise' symbols. Alternatively, a set of car keys.
