Wuthering Heights. Either the book or the more recent movie starring Ralph Fiennes, the classic 1939 movie was too abridged, only told half the story.

My Best Friend's Wedding
Untamed Heart
and City of Angels, actually I was SO pissed with the way this ended but it was such an awesome and beautiful movie, so even though technically it's one of my favs, the ending is not.
Every time I watch C of A I keep hoping that the ending is going to change. Crazy, right? :)

The Painted Veil, I highly recommend it. I don't want to give anything away because it's fairly new and i don't know if you have watched it yet, but it's exactly what you're looking for if those are the kinds of movies you like to watch.

Patch Adam, with Robin Williams as the doctor, he dies in the end of the movie and they finally get that hospital built that he had in mind.
Remember that he was in love with one of the female student who dies in the movie and he was a wreck.
