You know I had a co-worker who told me the same thing. In fact, I watched the first seven episodes and wasn't thrilled. My first problem was that it was very difficult for me to understand the drug dealers and users when they spoke because they talked with very heavy street slang. Second, the principle drug character didn't add up to me. He was basically a nice sensitive guy who happened to deal, and to kill once in awhile when required to. I'm not saying the show wasn't good, I'm just saying it wasn't for me. Third, since the main character ( a do-good detective) was always right, why not actually listen to him because, well, he's always right? This last thing is my main problem with "24." I mean for pete's sake, just listen to Jack and do what he says!
