When you say is Bush dumb do you mean that he didn't think of the possible consequences of the war on terrorism? I believe that Bush was fully justified in going into Afghanistan but I don't believe he should have went into Iraq. I also believe that they should have went to war against Al Qaeda and the taliban for destroying the twin towers and killing about 3000 American lives. Going into Iraq has hurt the U.S.'s credibility and trust throughout the whole world and has increased the terrorists number and ideas immensely. George Bush and his administration have caused an immense amount of chaos and the startings of a great genocide in Iraq. From what I know, he thought that the Iraqis would rise up against their way of life and form a democracy but because George Bush and his administration didn't understand the culture and failed to realize that it wouldn't happen because of the use of brutaility by the hundreds if not thousands of factions in Iraq all wanting power. I believe that George Bush isn't dumb but he didn't think about the consequences of his actions which I guess to some can be interpreted as stupid .

First, I would like to say that I consider myself to be a Christian Democrate and I, like you, disagree with the way the Bush administration has done things. Either he knowingly lied to the American people or he made a big mistake. Either way, going into Iraq was his first mistake. The American people and congress being willing to grant him what I would call un-checked power after 9-11 (Patriot Act, ect.) was our first mistake. America made another mistake when they re-elected him, but I suspect he may have stollen the presidencey.
I was suprised when he was elected the first time, and I was blown away when he was re-elected.
That being said, I am going to have to play the other side now. There are many Top Secret documents that the American people are never allowed to see, especialy conserning current events. Many of those documents are seen only by those near the president. I am willing to give him the benifit of the doubt (just a little mind you) that he had information that led him to sincerly believe he was doing the right thing. But ofcourse none of us can see into his heart, only God knows.
Generaly speeking people don't sit around planning evil things they can do for the day. There is no mad scientist in some lab shouting Muahahaha. And I don't think that the president has gathered his adviseres around him in some dark sinister room, and ploted the wicked distruction of the human race. I could be wrong. (those secret societies are a bit scary) Most people do what in there heart they belive they must do, even if they have to justify to themselves the bad things they have to do to do it.
The 1st duty we have as Americans is to pray for the president, regardless if we agree or disagree, like or dislike. (Does not apply to athiests) Other than that we have to fight for what we believe in through our votes and voice, and realize that those who oppose us are doing the same.

bush is the ralph wiggum of U.S. presidents. haha two successful companies? he drove those two companies through the ground! much like what is happening in iraq and afghanistan. what are we even doing there now? saddam is gone, there was no WMD and there is no evidence connecting saddam to radical islamists. he only got into those ivy league schools because of family connections and he was a poor student. lol internets? i wouldn't say that he is dumb, just a notch above a vegetable. oh yeah, if a true democracy is ever established in iraq, the islamists would win. but the west wouldn't take too kindly to that, yet it's their system, lol whats up with that? i'm afraid bush has lost his connection to the people, even the republican candidates for president want to stay away from him and the effects of his mismanagement.

okay, let's state the obvious, the current president of the u.s.a., isn't stephen hawking, william shakespeare, or any other notable intellectual in history. george bush will not be remembered in the history books of the future as a paragon of cerebral activity. now, for the part that might get me some flak from the diehard liberals and wanna be stand-up comedians.... george bush isn't stupid or mentally challenged either.
what you see in george bush is what you see in most people in the world and, of course, in the united states. he's average. he makes mistakes. he doesn't read 24-7. he doesn't know every word in the dictionary. he probably enjoys certain TV shows and sporting events rather than Masterpiece Theatre or the Discovery Times Channel. he stumbles vocally while speaking publicly. he doesn't know the history of his own country profoundly enough not to mention any other country on the globe.
i've laughed at the mistakes president bush has done in his terms in office. especially when i used to watch shows like john stewarts comedy news show. however, lets be honest, not everyone talks as smoothly and comically as john stewart or anyone else in the media / news. the majority of souls on the earth talk and act far more like george bush than the any model of excellence for intelligence and rhetoric.
people love to laugh and point at others, yet they are at most times reluctant to see the same comical faults in their own character.
