What classifies someone as a nerd? (I, of course am a nerd.)

At my school, nerds can be classified as: girls and guys who are sexually inexperienced, call each other nicknames stemming from Shakespearian plays, do math homework before school starts, (in girls) have limited expertise in applying makeup so either don't do it or do it in a very unskilled manner, are not very attractive, can be funny but are mostly just boring, and wear jeans that are too short.
Most of all, they don't care! So even if they're lame, they are actually awesome just by that alone.

...Someone who is far too intelligent to be "accepted" by the "In" crowd, or as I call them, The Morons. Though I call everyone that. Nerds...love books...I do...I'm a nerd but from looking at me everyone thinks I am not -.- Nerds preffer a good book in the quiet library *like me* than hanging outside and talking about cute boys/girls or where in the mall you are going to shop. Nerds pay attention to their studies rather than put on make up in class. End of story, Nerds are smart, and when someone calls you a nerd, take it as a complement. It means you are smarter than them ^.- You can classify yourself as one when you know you are smart...Others classify nerds as lanky people with no "fashion sense" *or what the morons classify as fashion* who have coke bottle glasses and are eyes deep in books and Dungeons and Dragons pamphlets...-.- God I dispise Nerd-Haters. BE A NERD AND PROUD! NERDS!!!! START THE REVOLUTION!!!!! You...whom is asking this question, you're a nerd?! YOU ARE AWESOME! *clap clap*

Outwardly interested in learning, particularly math or sciences related
Socially awkward, aside from other nerds
Lack of desire to keep up with fashion trends
I'm definitely a nerd. :)
It gets way cooler when you get to college.
The only problem I have with nerds (and this certainly doesn't apply to all of them) is the social awkwardness. That's something that has to be overcome - after all, nerds might be more likely to be successful in "the real world," but there will still be all kinds of people in any job you get.
Nerds: Learn to speak to non-nerds! It's important!

Nerds are sometimes smart to the point that they a socially inept or their social life is just being limited to being a loner.Some nerds has occasionally poor motor skills or being clumsy. but they are brainy like Einstein, he call himself a nerd because for one thing his looks (hair) like an electricity has spread over his head But he is the most genius of all the humans of his time.

Nerds are cool!
But being smart and people start hatin off you then you end up with that label. Why is smartness a crime? You tell me.
