This is evidently your first baby......................bleeding during your period won't hurt the baby. During the first few months some light cramping isn't unusual, but if it makes you uncomfortable, talk to your doctor. Remember, that baby is growing in an organ that normally isn't any bigger than your closed fist, and now it is beginning to stretch. Even though at 8 or 9 weeks, the baby is very tiny, your uterus has a lining of blood that helps to feed and protect the baby while you carry it.

You can get your period during your pregnancy just be sure that if there is any heavy cramping or large clots that are expelled you'll go into the doctor. My wife had light bleeding and bad cramping on Mother's day of 2004 and ended up losing our child, she was 7 weeks at the time. The chance of miscarriage goes down at around 12 weeks.
Any period like bleeding is no good. My wife's OB/GYN told her she had to stay on bed rest when her light bleeding occurred. They told her that is she soaked more than 1 pad in an hour that she needed to come in.
Now my wife is due to have a baby girl on Oct. 6th the same due date as our 4 yr old daughter.

You'll be just fine I'm a mother of 3 and had my period for 3 months into my pregnancy with 1st child. Is 11 now and perfectly healthy.
Everyone's pregnancy is different I always had heavy periods so my doctor said it wasn't abnormal for me to still have symptoms and light bleeding. I actually had no idea I was even pregnant until the 4th month. It's always a good idea to ask doc more questions if you're still worried.

Well... my first month I had a VERY small period... and then the second month I had cramps as if I were on a period. But It hasn't came now since December. And I don't have cramps anymore either.
Further more my mother had her period with me all 9 months. And I am fine :D
But good luck, and make sure to keep your doctor updated.

It is quite common. I had a friend who got her period for the first 5 months she was pregnant! She carried full term, and gave birth to a healthy baby girl!

It is actually perfectly normal to cramp the first couple months of pregnancy. It always feels like your period is gonna come but it never does. Almost every woman i know experienced it. I did with both my pregnancys!

I've honestly heard stories of females having a period the whole pregnancy. However when I was pregnant I would spot and my doctor told me if I used 2 pads in an hour/ was really heavy to go in. So just pay attention to your body and please don't stress about it. Good luck

Yes, it can occur during pregnancy and you can be just fine. If you are cramping though, it could be pregnancy cramping. They feel the same as period cramps and are normal. Good luck!

When you are pregnant you do not get your period. But you can spot from time to time. If you do start to bleed see your doctor right away.
