It's not all Christians but the ones on here do that because they are hypocrites. That's why they can't give you a logical response.

Not sure why this question is in here, and not in the religion section.

My opinion on this is that religious groups in general think that they are right and everyone else is wrong. And they feel that gives them the authority to be intolerant, and to assume that everyone else thinks they are right as well. But this is not strictly a Christian concept, the Islamic fundamentalists believe they can do the suicide bombings; the Christians think they can condemn everyone to hell. But it is ALL the same intolerance.

You don't have to accept someone else's belief to love them. Besides, if you don't think what you believe is true, it isn't really a belief, it's just a "practice."

Tolerance does not mean you have to accept something as equally true, it means allowing it to exist without harming the believers. I think most Christians do that...allow other beliefs to exist in the world without persecuting those who hold them. But all people (Christians included) have the right to say they think someone else is wrong.

Sadly I get asked that a lot and I find myself apologizing on behalf of Christians for the often much less than Christlike way they treat people. Even if you don't agree with someone, doesn't mean you condemn them to hell! Christians are called to be witnesses not judges

I want to know if you mean you have heard "Christians" arguing or something. But basically. Jesus yelled at the Leaders (of the Hebrews and/or all "religious" leaders of the common people) for wanting to keep the people under their leadership, in bondage to rules of which they added to and became a long-drawn out list of requirements and that is what they did- not bring the people to the REALIZATION OF THE COMING MESSIAH. If the leaders had admitted they needed a Saviour, for their sins, then all the rules they made would not be making them perfect, and they refused to believe that all of that structure that they compiled was for nothing. Why did THEY need the coming Messiah? The pride in their hearts kept them from a heart change which is needed according to Jesus.
So, on my part, I get a little over-heated when established religions continue their works-based structure, when Christ has come now, and He forgave us and wrote the Law in our hearts, and Christians now have Jesus living inside of them, to fulfill the Law through Love. The measure of a true church, is one that believes' that Christ came and died in the flesh to forgive us, and make us able to be bought back. He must call us personally, and we must respond, through the Holy Spirits' help and drawing by Him only. Not by us deciding that this would be a good thing to do, because these "principles" (Satan can use our guilt) are good for business and/or cause less turmoil in ones' personal life.
No one is good enough- rejecting Christ is our sin, and the only one accumulative sin that will keep us from God and His Plan.
"ISMS" are : Man reaching up to God.
Christianity is God reaching down to man.
GRACE from God is:
G.od's
R.iches
A.t
C.hrist's

I think when you say "Christians" what you mean are "Evangelical Christians". I had been in the seminary and had many friends who were very into the Evangelical doctrine. When I came out to them they ran away so fast they left skid marks.

One word.. Hypocrisy. Seriously tho, not all Christians are like that. There are a lot who are actually open minded and accepting of other's differences. You just don't see that a lot on here.

I coach my toddlers to be as tolerant and respectful of others (which comprise Christians) as others are of them. In our small city, many "Christians" are no longer precisely training what they carry forth making it complicated to grasp the guy. however, that isn't being illiberal of Christian ideals yet of a individual who's him/herself isn't tolerating their very own ideals.

Not all Christians are a**holes. A lot of Christian based religions try to keep their followers by teaching them others are wrong, but not all.
