yup. they tend to do that in the movies
all the evil villains lasted for years in the books.
the hobgoblin story line is nice though. Sticks to the ongoing drama they had in the books.
it was nice he lasted for at least three movies. all the villains should have lasted that long. X-Men pulled it off too

VENOM IS THE REASON WHY I WENT TO SEE THIS MOVIE.
They got the Venom look pretty much covered,
but where was the distorted voice?!?!
Where's the agility and lethality and violence and flat-out onslaught against Pete?!?!
I WILL grant the movie this: the way Spider-Man did the whole aluminum post, construction site cell around Venom was pretty clever.
I wish Venom could be brought back, but I hope they don't. When the bomb went off, it was clear that Brock (or rather, his skeleton) was not "one" with the symbiot. So if he returns it'll just be a big crock-o-$h!t. (Unless they do a REALLY good story job)
And if they decide to make it as though pieces of the symbiot survived, just so they can call Carnage into play, I'll just start crying out of frustration... seriously.
The PG-13 degree of Spider-Man movies CANNOT accommodate Carnage because he is a SERIAL KILLER. And if they did include him, they'd just make him some toned-down punk.

I agree. Venom should have been the only villain in the movie.
I wish Eddie Brock has been introduced in the first or second film so that his relationship with Peter Parker could have been fleshed out more. I also wish they had put more thought into the introduction of the symbiote, instead of having it simply land in a meteor, a throwaway moment in the film.
Venom has always been my favorite Spider-Man villain, and he certainly deserved more.

i heard that Raimi didnt want Venom in the movie and that the producers sort of forced him to put him in the movie.i didnt think it was handled right at all.but if the director doesnt care about the character ,then he wouldnt put all his energy into making him work right.it was almost like they wrote the script and then marvel told them to put Venom in it and they had to add him at the end.

Yes!!! It was too simple and not enough action. I thought the whole movie was kinda lame too.
