My wife have been seperated for about six months and rarely hav contact, when we do it is usually unpleasant. Back in april we had a major falling out and spent a whole day e-mailing and texting how much we hated each other and insulting each other. After that we kept it stictly business, we only communicated through e-mail and only about bills. Well about 2 weeks ago, she e-mails to ask "how am I doing?", we e-mailed back and forth, she called, we talked then a few days later she downloaded yahoo IM, and we've been chatting almost every night. Its really weird to me that she chats instead of talking on the phone, even weirder that she wants to chat and that she is being nice. I've been told by buddies, she has probably screwed my over pretty good and i dont know about it yet, and thats why she is acting nice. Im kinda thinking that too, just 2 months ago she hated me more than anything.

okay, been in this type of situation before.
Most likely she hasnt screwed you. any person with a brain in there head wouldnt screw someone then go and give it away by actin real sweet. She is probably lonely. When you get to a certain point after a break-up, you sometimes start to think that maybe things werent that bad, and you start to reminisce about the good stuff, and all that bad stuff seems to go away.
Personally i think that maybe she wants to reconcile. or maybe she has just gotten over the anger.

Yes you are it appears this lady of yours is not stupid. She has most likely filed for divorce and is being nice so you do not fight her on stuff labelled in the divorce. For example property and other nic nacs you may have gotten together that she wants. She may also have found a new man and she just wants to get this over and done with. I think you need

The IM thing is suspicious. I'd put money on her saving the conversations to print out and provide to a judge. She's taking her time working you over so that you'll feel safe enough to either make promises regarding a divorce settlement or make statements that she'll take out of context to use against you.
I wouldn't say anything to her that you wouldn't say in front of an audience.

people tend to say they hate someone when they really really love them alot and its just not working. They dont hate the person they hate the fact that things are not working but they say they hate the person.
