Bermuda is quite a bit cooler and more comfortable this time of year. It is also a cleaner island, and its residents aren't desperate for your money (no crime).
Example: your cab driver is likely a millionaire. The nicest places to stay in Bermuda are luxury cottage villages on the ocean that provide peace, quiet and relaxation and golf.
Bahamas have more "American style" of high rise luxury accommodation, with gambling. (no gambling in Bermuda)
With that, there is a bit of rif-raf, and a slight atmosphere of pedaling. I know people that have gone to Sandals (Bahamas), and never left the resort or had to.
In Bermuda that is not the case, you will want to explore the island be it by scooter, bus, ferry, cab of foot.
I suppose the definition of "better" depends on what type of holiday you are looking for. I hope this helped.

The Fairmount Southampnton and Hamilton Princess and Elbow Beach are the finest hotels on the island when one is seeking posh accommodation:

I would go to Bermuda again before I would go to the Bahamas. First thing is there are NO slums and poverty in Bermuda. All of the houses a pastel colors and none are shantys like you find away from the beach areas in the Bahamas. Bermuda is a small island, but has a great transportation system that tourists can use to tour the whole island and get to the beaches. Bermuda has some of the prettiest pink sand beach anywhere and compare in beauty with anything you find in the Bahamas. Hotels and food are very expensive in Bermuda, but so are they in the Bahamas.
Bermuda gets my vote.

I have been to both places and have gone back to Bermuda 2 more times. I felt unsafe at times in the Bahamas, especially going out late at night. I also felt bad having people always asking me for money or trying to sell me stuff and having to say no. Bermuda is a very clean island, but still has a lot of nightlife (in Hamilton), beautiful beaches, very low crime. Maybe I just had a bad experience in Bahamas, the people in the hotel room next to us got robbed ...but I would never go back there unless it was to an all inclusive place or Atlantis. But I just like Bermuda so much more, for exploring, the beaches, nightlife, the people and sites.

Bermuda, by far, is your better choice. The bahamas are very run down & there is quite a bit of poverty on the larger islands. Bermuda is beautiful & clean with magnificent beaches. Very civilized & safe...
