Like, they'll ask, "Isn't Green Day utterly awesome?" and they'll give Best Answer to someone who says, "Green Day sucks, moron".

Well, I wouldn't give Best Answer to someone who insults me on a minor issue like that, nor would I respect someone who did. But when it comes to a more serious issue, like politics or religion, I do sometimes give Best Answer to someone who disagrees with me. I refine my thinking through debate and discussion, so I appreciate it when someone gives me an insight that helps me understand another viewpoint better.

Oh, and Green Day sucks, but I don't think you're a moron for liking them. :-)

Sometimes giving the BA to an opposing answer is the Best Answer. But if a user "always" does this, then I would say something is "amiss".

Another thought is that the person might be using "reverse psychology" and actually looking for someone to disagree.
