At 1 weeks pregnant you are on your period. Do you mean 1 week past conception, which is really 3 weeks along? They will have you sign something with the risks on it if there are any. I know many who were put under general anesthesia when pregnant and the baby was fine.

I had to have my appendix out at 5 weeks pregnant. The doctor warned me that there was about a 30% chance of miscarriage - not just from the anesthesia, but also from the shock of surgery. Unfortunately, I had to have the surgery to save my life.
I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy girl. I wouldn't have taken the risk if I didn't absolutely need to, but everything worked out fine for me.

It's fine. Local anesthesia has virtually zero risks on the baby, because it does not enter the blood stream - it is confined to a small area of the body - hence the term "local".

Local anesthesia will not hurt the baby. General or spinal will be a higher risk.

local medication DOES enter the bloodstream, but in a much diluted state. Also, at 1 week pregnancy, the baby has not yet attached to the uterine wall, nor has the placenta bonded. Risks are minuscule and not to worry about.
