My husband's friend wants to get his permit...he has a moped, but was caught by police, I helped him with the drug course thing now he needs his learners permit, but he can't read, and he has to have the questions explained to him. and then he understands them, will the DMV spend the time to explain each question? and what can I do to help him pass before his court date July 7? He is 52 years old

He can have the questions read to him if it is requested when the testing appointment is made.

He needs to make arrangements with DMV to take the test. They will NOT explain the questions to him. However, they will read the questions (and answers for multiple choice questions) to him.

You should contact the Florida DMV directly. Also, you might wanna ask if it's even SAFE for him to drive if he can't read the traffic signs:

go do a reading coarse 1st then get permit
how did he get a licence in the 1st place

I don't think he can get a license or a permit being that he is illiterate.
