I have to say the 03 Big 12 title game was a pretty big upset. In '98 there wasn't the disparity that existed between the northern and southern conferences (except for Big Red being better than everybody else in the conference) that does today. Oklahoma has asserted itself as sort of the new Nebraska and the southern division as the most dominant in the conference. Sports casters commented how pretty much the North was garbage and didn't even deserved to play against the likes of OU and UT, but then Darren Sproles and the Wildcats rocked the Sooners worlds, Glorious!

To answer your question first I believe the 2003 Big 12 championship was the biggest upset at the time. Everyone was so sure Oklahoma had the best team in the nation. I personally believe upsets are only that (upsets) for a short period of time. That same year my favorite team Alabama was "upset" by Northern Illinois 2 weeks after giving the best team in the country (Oklahoma) a tough time before losing 13-20. At the time I was shocked. Turns out Alabama wasn't as good, NI was better than people thought. Oklahoma wasn't as good as everyone thought either. Hey cubby r u a buckeye fan perhaps. Hint OSU is 1-7 versus the SECs top 6 teams (Bama, Auburn, Ga., Tenn., Ark., and LSU). That's not even counting the 2 spankings South Carolina gave them. No team wins all the time. Football games can be determined by lots of things: a dropped pass, missed block, bad ref call, penalties etc. In the end your team won or lost. If they won then celebrate if they lost congratulate the winners and move on.

Kansas State vs. Texas A&M 1998 Big XII championship

Flutie beat Miami that year (not Florida).

Anyway, of the two choices I would go with the 2003 Kansas State win over Oklahoma. Texas A&M in 1998 was a one-hit wonder team (ie...they don't always compete for championships so winning one wasn't so shocking in my opinion whereas Oklahoma under Stoops has been a powerhouse for the most part and they got smoked by Kansas State that year which no-one could have forseen.)

Any game that Kansas State ever won in football is a Titanic upset. Remember Kansas State was the first ever school in NCAA I-A to lose 400 games.

Of those two, I'd go with KSU's win over Oklahoma.

As for biggest upset, I'd go with Miami's win over Nebraska in the 1984 Orange Bowl.
