I assume you mean a 30GB Harddrive. HD and memory are 2 different things. If you go to the "run" option, and type dxdiag you can get the full specs of your computer. I would say for a start, if you want to buy more hardware, memory is always the way to go. Most older computers have around 256mb maybe less. 512mb is the standard now adays, maybe even more. I have 1gb on my desktop, but have been thinking of going to 2gb, though im a gamer, so i need more. I also have 2x 250 gb hard drives so i have plenty of storage for music and movies. If you are looking for efficientcy, Memory, and Processor are what you may want to look into. I have a 3.4ghz Dual Core Intel Pentium D Processor. If you want some software options, then i would suggest defragmenting your hard drive on a regular basis, this you can find at Start/All Programs/Accesories/System Tools. If you see a lot of red bars, you need to defrag. This will raise access time when loading apps. You also may want to download CCleaner (ccleaner.com, or google it) and run that. It removes cookies, cache files, and other files that take up space. You also may want to download Spybot S&D and Ad-aware for any Spyware, or adware that may be slowing your computer down. Also, regular virus scans are a good idea. You also want to do a disk check now and then. Its under the properties option when you right click on your hard drive. Other than that, it may be worthwhile to buy a brand new computer. These days you can pick up a fairly good one for under $500. Its up to you. If you have any more computer questions, just give me an e-mail (videnthecoldone@comcast.net) Hope this helped
P.S. If you want to look for computer hardware, try Pricewatch.com.

The most direct and easiest way to make your computer noticeably faster is to put more system RAM in it. This is commonly referred to as "memory". I would recommend trying to get at least 1GB of memory running in your machine. It's very important to match the same type of memory currently in your computer or it may not work. In other words, you just can't go out and buy any stick of memory to put in your PC. The 30gb of memory you mentioned is actually your computers hard drive capacity. If your computer is over 2-3 years old, it might be cheaper to just put that "upgrading" money towards a new PC. Since your used to Dell's, get another one. They always have deals where you can score a free LCD monitor with a new PC purchase and they allow you to make monthly payments if necessary.

how old is it? is it a desktop or notebook? if it is a laptop, repleace it, you cant really make ur system more powerful except by adding a lager hard drive, and more ram. If it is a desktop, you could consider replacing some parts, but that may be troublesome. You almost might be better off getting a new computer if it is kinda old, i would prefer a laptop, everything these days is going mobile, or even a tablet.
