Use nail polish remover*. Use a cotton swab and lightly treat it like a girl doing her fingernails. Be gentle.

I also heard Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works wonders.

Supplement:
LOL... sorry, on an episode of Mythbusters, pee didn't even work as well as plain tap water. It's myth busted.

Supplement 2:
Thx for the correction, Alice K. But I've tried hairspray and it certainly do not work as well as nail polish remover.

I think DMAN must mean nail polish remover. Don't put nail polish on your shoes; you'll just be varnishing the Sharpie marks. I've also heard good things about the Mr. Clean eraser. If that doesn't get it all, try hair spray. Spray it till it's wet, then scrub it. I know it sounds weird but I've used it to get indelible ink out of white fabrics when nothing else worked. If THAT doesn't get it all, go to Michael's and see if you can find a white Painter's paint pen and cover the rest of the mark with that (Sharpie's won't cover Sharpie's--it will smear it and make it gray). Then cover that with shoe polish.

I doubt you will be able to clean Sharpie from the shoe? Especially if its cloth.

i heard pee works great just pee into a clothe and scrub you will be amazed as the dirt comes right off them shoes
