Not hardly...That means not at all.
No matter where you stand upon the Earth, the Earth's core is below you (under your feet), and the sky is above you.
If you look up into the sky, Space begins about 50 to 75 Miles straight up. Nobody I know can walk up into the sky. That first step is a killer and just doesn't seem to work. Later we find out that even if you hurry, steps one through five all fail to get you any higher off of the ground.
Sailing vessels seem to be limited to usage around sea level at most places except some lakes which are above Sea Level. About the biggest leaps they will make are off of the top of some really big waves such as maybe 100 footers. That is as high as they will ever get - not even close to 50 to 75 Miles altitude.

no. gravity firmly keeps us on the earth. the only way to leave the earth and travel into space is to achieve escape velocity, which takes great amoutns of thrust and energy, like that provided by a shuttle for instance. However, way back when, ppl used to think the earth was flat and that if u sailed too far u would fall off the earth, however the earth isnt flat, it's round.

Try it - if you just keep walking you won't walk straight off the planet because gravity keeps you on the surface.
So the answer is no. And if you read just a little about basic science you would know that.
Or maybe this is just a trick question, to test us.

No, the Earth is round, so I don't think that's possible. Gravity pulls you inwards, towards the center of the Earth...you'll have to find a way of breaking free of gravity to do that. Or find a way to make the world flat.

although walking in a straight line won't get you off earth, there is a way to get into space in a straight line, its the SPACE ELEVATOR.
It was invented by Arthur C.CLARKE, who also invented the geosynchronous communications satellite, but has not been built yet.

No, that is what they believed 500 years ago, that the Earth was flat, it is round so you will just walk around it, it is called gravity.

You could do what you describe *only* if you could accelerate up to about 25,000 mph almost instantly. That's roughly the escape velocity from Earth.
