Many experts believe that the world will continue to get more riddled with war and violence over the course of the next ten years. Either agree or disagree with this statement and explain why.

I do realize this isn't a "random poll". It's kinda specific but Yahoo Answers required me to have a question that was at least 10 characters long and "poll?" is below 10 characters. I added the word random to make it longer. My apologies.

Yes, and here's why: extremists.
The vast majority of the people in this world are generally reasonable and rational, and don't want war.
The extremists do.
So Muslim extremists try to get all Muslims stirred up to hate all Americans, and American extremists (the Falwells and Coulters of the country) try to get all Americans stirred up to hate all Muslims.
This alienates you and me and all the more rational, moderate people. Hate spreads. Every day I see some extremist Muslim screaming "death to USA" or some brain-dead neocon saying, "nuke all them a-rabs!"
Hate breeds hate.
Now, if we could just get rid of the extremists, the rest of us could probably be happy.
But that's not happening. Too many people enjoy listening to extremsists spewing hate. Which is why I say the violence will probably conitnue.

I Agree
Because the USA doesn't have an elected ruler.
The Bush Administration is a Coup for the CIA & other undercover agencies from other countrys. It's a close nit group.
I don't even think that there we be a presidential election in the USA in 2008.
Bush has signed the necessary laws that will give him the power to assume full control under certain circumstances.
The secret agencies and Haliburtons paid contractors will ensure that the chaos that has stiffled the congress and has incited demonstrations for race, religion, nationalities, weath, education and anything else they can think of.
For example - all the time that congress has spent working on the failed immigration bill while the Bush Administration fails to enforce the 1986 immigration bill.
He comes back from his trip and effectivly offers the Senate over $4. billion to fund enforcement if the revive the new bill.
That sounds like a form of B R I B E to me.
Shouldn't someone arrest him for that ?
Congress has bought it though.
He has the atty general gonzales keeping the Judicial committee busy with his refusal to keep his oath. The one that he took when he became the atty general. Part of which are the word "to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America from all enemies, foreign and domestic." If he were half a man he would resign and let the congress reestablish the rights taken away from us by the guy in the White House. His ex-client ?
Why can't any member of the government or the United Nations learn to jsut say NO to Bush.
Even the once might Russians have caved.
China has been sending us poision and building their army.
They shoulld learn to " SAY NO TO BUSH ".
BUSH never keeps his promises.

Most assuredly it will. Our country is currently acting some kind of bully towards countries our President sees as a threat, real or imagined. This policy has managed to help the middle-east become even more unstable than it was before we invaded. The chasm between the rich and the poor is growing. China will eventually decide to flex its muscles somewhere. Mexico is promoting their citizens to enter our country, and of course oil and those who have it and those who want it. The more we as humans devalue other humans, it's only a matter of time before things explode. Greed makes people do funny things, the lack of having enough makes people do even more drastic things.

There will always be wars and rumors of war. There will always be petulance and plague. The difference in 100 years ago and today is the amount of time information takes to get around. The next ten years will be no better or worse than the last ten, or the ten before it ect....

Agree. This is Islam's last chance to take over the world. They've been very successful in S.E. Asia and Africa, and Europe almost lost France, but who won't be watching if they use similar tactics in the future?
Their only choice is an all-out war, assuming they can convince their people to do it before their own people rise up against them in search of freedom (already started).
My own family fled Islam in the 1950s. We've been expecting this war for decades.

It might increase a little bit. But there's actually a lot less war these days than there was hundreds of years ago.
Also, you could've titled your question "Will wars increase" or something like that. That would've also had the benefit of letting people know the topic before they clicked on it.

I agree. It seems the Middle East is just expanding into a brew of conflict and we are always there to baby-sit them.

Agree.
The US is unfortunately hosting a world-altering wave of evangelical freaks who think they are the salvation to the world. Funny how they bring upon death and destruction with those same thoughts.

I honestly have no idea. Anything can happen. I think the best we can do is just deal with the present moment and prevent that from happening.
