I tell them. The problem with people today is that they spend so much time bitching about how people annoy them to other people! Which usually comes back and bites them in the bum anyway...
Always be straight with people. If they're your friends, they should understand. If they're not, what does it matter? You're not insulting them, merely letting them know they're being annoying and you'd like them to stop.
Ignoring the problem does not make it go away. Think that would work for a hurricane for instance?

Well when it comes to my family and friends i definitely let them know that they are getting on my last nerve trust me and i have a very annoying family but when it comes to strangers i will ignore them or i will politely ask them to stop whatever they are doing that is bothering me

I would tell them if it's "below the belt"... but I often ignore those little annoying things

If they're doing something to intentionally annoy me I either ignore them or throw a pointy object at them. If it's unintentional then I'll say something.

it depends on how close I am to the person. If I am close to them,I tell them, if its someone I don't really know, I ignore them

I ignore them the 1st time but if they dont stop then i get mad and tell them off! =]

I tell them that they are annoying me, but I do it in a nice way as not to hurt their feelings, and I am specific as to what the annoyance is
