California - too expensive, no justice for those victimized by celebrities, inconsistent treatment of celebrity offenders, earthquake prone, wildfire prone, corrupt police, gang dominance, race riots, etc.
I have Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and Florida as my top 5 worst states but California is a combination of the other 4.

I'd say Mississippi. It's in the humid South, and has a lot of poverty. The educational attainment of children in its school system is about the lowest in the county. There is little money available for education or other community services. I'm told by a former resident that there is thick continuing racism between white and black residents.
(From a former Californian who would vote for California as the best state).

I don't think there is a bad state to live in. All states are basically the same, it is your attitude that makes the difference.

The State of Denial. LOL!
More seriously, though, each state has its pluses and minuses. And each person has his/her preferences. I enjoy going to Florida to visit friends and relatives, but I wouldn't want to live there, for example.
Most people would say of most places, "Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there." But then, there are people who visit a place, fall in love with it, and move there. You'd have to visit the place to find out if you like it or not.

I lived in Arkansas for a few months. I did not like it. Not too culturally diverse. I really disliked it.

There is no "worst" state. If you open your eyes and mind each state has something special to offer.
