First of all, no way are you "sick" or "sad" or whatever the McCann lovers call you. You are just asking a reasonable question. I don't think they would ever leave money unattended, its just a shame they didn't apply that rule to their babies.
Why can't people see that to leave three little kiddies unattended in an unlocked hotel room, and then go out for a meal and a booze up is so very, very WRONG and a form of CHILD NEGLECT?
I would also wonder if Madeleine had disappeared from say, Grimsby, would the McCann's refuse to return home until she was found? mmmmmmmm, don't think it has the same appeal as Portugal though.

To the first two answerers - its not about making a mistake and then realising that you have done wrong afterwards. Its that the people who do not agree with what the McCanns have done would NEVER leave small children unattended.
In answer to the actual question, of course they wouldn't leave any money unattended, I mean they didnt even want to pay out for a baby sitter.

OK you who will see no wrong in anyone!
Try going out shopping this afternoon, not too far, just around the corner. leave a three year old and two year old twins at home, dont bother locking the door (we all do it)... return home to find them gone..call police and see what happens!
They wont give yu a handkerchief and a cuppa, thats for sure.I am still amazed that no charges have been brought as even if no one had taken her she could have left on her own accord, looking for mummy following a bad dream

Robespierre2 - good grief i do hope you don't have children, and if you dont i will give you some advice - DON'T HAVE ANY, because people DON'T leave their children alone if they have at least 1 brain cell!
good question, no i don't think they would leave their money in their un-locked room along with their three babies! good question!

Look , nobody is coming out of this well. What is it saying to the rest of the world? :
1 English people don't look after their children .?
2 English people conspire to steal other peoples' children. ?
3 Me personally : When I was little , I used to run off down the beach exploring for "miles": rock pools etc and I'm not sure I could always see where my folks were,. NOW , I insist I should always be able to see wherever my child is on the beach, or other places
Is this good for our children?? That we're constantly worried what will happen to them ??
Ask the relevant questions please.

I don't know about a sick question or not, but it's certainly worth thinking about.
To be honest I wouldn't have even given it a second thought, however, look how people are about leaving anything of (material) value lying around, and how most of us would lock it away and guard it with our lives; yet a child - well three, left alone.... It certainly does make you wonder.

I just feel for Maddie. I entirely blame the evil person or people who have been involved with this disappearance. I hope she is found and alive, but time is getting on now and I fear the worst.
The thought has occurred to me that some of the replies on the internet may be coming from the perpetrators or sympathisers with them and that they are "drumming up" the feelings against the McCanns to suit their own purpose, just bear that in mind. Yes I know they left the children on their own (I agree they certainly should not have), but some of the replies have been so vicious that I suspect where they are coming from (don't forget paedophiles are using the internet as well!)

£1000 is nowhere near to how much a child is to a parent.

Probably. They have another 699 000 in the bank so the 1000 wouldn't make that much difference. If I had that much I wouldn't have sleepless nights from leaving a little money while I went out. I'm not sure how well this relates to a little girl though.
