This has to be simple but i am sooo lost. show me how to work this problem out. Thanks.

It is easy to see the number 7 would fill in the blank:

13+7+17= 13+_+17

By 13 and 17 being on both sides of the equation, along with 7 on one side, 7 would have to be on the other side in order to make the equation equal. With 7, both sides of the equation equal 37. By taking away the parentheses, the equation demonstrates the commutative property. Don't get confused with the parentheses, they don't make a difference if you're only adding or multiplying numbers.

.(13 + 7) + 17 = 13 + ( 7 + 17) this shows that in the case of addition, you can move the numbers out of the parens and stll be correct.

This demonstrates the Associative Property For all real numbers a, b, and c,

(a + b) + c = a + (b + c)

(13+7)+17=13+(7+17)

20+17=13+24

37=37 answer is 7

Just take the parantheses out. It makes it a lot simpler.

13 + 7 + 17 = 13 + _ + 17

I'm sure you can figure it out from here...

simply put 7 in blank, because every operation is addition so they had same priority,
