Yesterday Once More. I've got a story about it actually, it might make you smile.
When I was very small, our local shop always seemed to be playing Yesterday Once More - I still associate the song with that place today, 25 years on. I used to sing it all the time when I was 5, it was one of my favourites.
I was on a bus the other day and a little girl was sat behind me. She must have been about 5 or 6. She was singing Yesterday Once More.
It kind of brought a lump to my throat. Isn't it amazing how some songs never die?

There are so many, definitely nostalgia though, and definitely agree with you. We are all entitled to our own opinion--even the ones disagreeing with your question--although they have no class, and were probably just stains in their daddy's pants at the time of the carpenters...so feck em, if it works for you--it works for you, keep that 'nostalgia' alive babes!

OMG, I love it my era of music . Probably their version of Superstar. I first heard it on a Bette Midler record and loved it , but Karen Carpenter sang it with an authenticity and genuineness that was just real.

"Goodbye To Love" or "Rainy Days and Mondays" - both demonstrate the rich texture of Karen's voice which in turn suited the pensive lyric and melody

I'm sorry but the Carpenters were horrible then, and they're still horrible, the worst band ever. So my favorite Carpenter's song would have to be the one that never got recorded.
