When we should have been overthrowing our own? Our government has been killing our citizens, it's power erupting out of control.

Never said it would have to be violent. We can have a peaceful takeover if enough of our citizens are on board.

Oooh...watch it girlfriend...I get enough flack making comments like that as a Canadian...big brother is gonna kick your a.s.s.

Don't you know you can't be a free thinker in America? It's considered unpatriotic by the left wing or is it right wing...in any case they're all doing the chicken dance it seems.

Did I hear cynical say "we can't resort to violence"? I see... it's peace that's happening over there in the middle east?

Here you go, this is for you:

Here's an American's view too:

O YEAH...you are referring to what some call seeing the world through rose coloured glasses...Americans are delusional about the fact the world is sick and tired of thier politicians having their hands in every other country's back pocket. If they came to recognize that, maybe there would be some hope.

And JOSH, many Iraqis also say they preferred Saddam even though he was a tyrant, because he kept CONTROL of Iraq despite his being a dictator. For many, the price of freedom brought more pain and misery than what they had before.

Uh, I think you're exaggerating. Our government isn't really killing citizens.

Let's not get so dramatic. Citizens kill other citizens by the hundreds every day, so let's not get all righteous about the sanctitiy of a citizen's life. The Bush government is not very good, but it's not tearing the country apart or going around kidnapping or assassinating citizens.

Actually, take out the war and the country has never been better. I know you can't ignore the war, I'm just putting it into perspective. Other than the war, there's really nothing wrong with the country (nothing that hasn't been wrong for a long time, anyway). The economy is better than it was under Clinton. Unemployment is lower than Clinton's was. The deficit has come into line, now lower than it was in 1972 when you account for time.

So, I don't think we're at the precipice of the apocalypse.

that's gloomy. Now if purely the media might checklist on the money being wasted construction motorcycle paths everywhere in the country, or funds being waisted busing college infants everywhere in the country as a fashion to offer black infants with white classification friends, or the billions to subsidize ethanol production, elevating the value of nutrition and ravenous hundreds of thousands international. If the above themes may well be addressed shall we preserve our infrastructure and our very own inhabitants, and supply scientific coverage without elevating taxes. If purely our corrupt government might supply up throwing funds at issues that don't exist

I feel your outrage but I really feel we've got to work from the local levels upward - see what we can do to help our neighbors and folks in our community.

I've become very discourged by the powers in Washington (both Democrat and Republican) and I feel that these folks are too much in the hands of large corporations and big-industry lobbyists. I'm at a loss for what to do and I don't feel protesting is effective. Sure, we have a right to speak out, but the powers that be have a right not to care. And that's precisely what has happened.

The local level and through the internet - grass roots stuff - is where it's at. And I don't think we can continue to politicize issues. The "cons" won't listen to the "libs," and vice-versa so we've just got to approach things as citizens.

If you're a teacher, voluteer to teach in poor neighborhoods.

If you're an artist, volunteer to work with disadvantaged kids on art projects.

If you got nothing else, at least you can volunteer at a soup kitchen.

If you better people's lives, there might not be so much frustration as there is now. If people are truly freed, they will be intellegent enough to seek alternatives to war and my hope is that we can start instilling this in future generations.

We can't depend on our government to solve our problems. I feel they are lost.

You've been alive for few decades, you made it to the age you are despite living in a hellhole country that needs its government overthrown, and you think our whole country needs to be changed after over 200 years of doing pretty well. Grow up.

By the way, you're a hit with the nonAmerican haters. Why don't you take one of those student trips abroad and find a country that more suits your needs so you can live with the haters? We'll stay here and "Fall like Rome".

And no, I'm not telling you "if you don't like it, leave." I'm responding to your appeal for Americans to start an action to overthrow my government. You'll have to fight me first. You want to live in violence and choas? Go to freaking Palestine.

Why are you name-dropping Berkley? Sheesh.

You've got it wrong, kid. We're not trying to over-throw their government, we're just trying to HELP their government which, personally, I think going over there was WRONG.

We shouldn't have gone over there, it was a HUGE mistake. We're not really helping the situation at all, all we're doing is getting our brave soldiers killed.

Now, our government is killing our own people, we need to take a step up and put an end to all the drugs, violence, and everything that is brainwashing and killing us. We NEED to make a big change with the next president in '08, and keep our power from getting to our leaders heads.

Someone who claimed to be from Kuwait now living in Iraq (i couldn't say for sure if it was authentic, tho) said that the majority of the Iraqi people want the US to stay there and help until things are under control.

He/she said that the "Sadders" are waiting for the troops to leave so they can take over.

"Sadders" are the followers of Hojatoleslam Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr who supposedly is the most influential person in Iraq even tho he holds no official title or office.

I hate the war, I hate the occupation, but if this person was actually who he/she claimed to be, then I find that very interesting. This person said "not everybody" but "a lot" of the Iraqi population.

It is all about strategic positioning of our troops and protecting Israel. The oil was just a bonus. I agree though, a complete overhaul of the system is needed. Maybe the next administration will consider the Constitution as a guide. We all talk so much but so few of us actually vote. If transformation and cleaning house is what we want, then consider Ron Paul.

It will happen, revolution is a cycle. Our current government (yes, congress AND bush) is about as popular as King George the III was during the revolution.

It doesn't take a majority at all. Its the type of thing where the minority makes all the difference in the world.

You are right. Bush runs the country the same way he ran his corporations, breaking all the laws and rules possible. Look at how many lives both American and Iraqi Bush has also wasted. If our Congress had any ethics or backbone, Bush would have been impeached and tried by the Senate, convicted and removed from office. Then he should be sent to the Hague and tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
