I keep finding these insects in my house and i really want to know what it is called. Its brown striped a bit like a really big earwig(but its def not an earwig), it has antannae and has about six legs, have seen one about 3 inches long. What the hell are they?! Please help?!

i live in jersey, channel islands. and btw they are not cockroaches!!

You're sure they're not earwigs? Well, the first thing that springs to mind for non-earwig, but earwig-like, insects is a kind of unusual thing called a Rove Beetle. I have no idea whether they are found on the Channel Islands, but do a Google and see if it looks likely. The sure answer, of course, is to catch one, get a photo and try someone at the museum.

ABOUT 6 legs???...it must have EXACTLY 6 legs to be an insect.It is probably a cockchafer or maybug.(35mm)Check up a photo and see if it's what you have.Maybugs fly and have brown wing cases and feathery antennae .Earwigs don't get that big in Britain.(13mm)

ask someone who gets rid if bug to come and find what kind of bug it is. ask your mom and dad or your brothers and sisters.

About six legs? They vary, do they? I suggest you get the zoological society down there pronto mate .... you have found a new variable species!
