48. The "times by" operator has a higher importance (the right word escapes me...) than the addition or substraction operator.

You first multiply and then substract. 64 -16 = 48

= 2 x 24
= 48

don't forget to follow the "order of operations"

1) work separately above and below any fraction bar
2) if parentheses, brackets, or absolute value bars are there, start with the innermost set and work outward.
3) evaluate all exponents, roots and absolute values
4) multiply or divide in order from left to right
5)add or subtract in order from left to right

in this case start with step 4 to get 64-16

If I am not mistaken, its a decimal number, right????
Then:
2.32 - 8.2 = - (8.2 - 2.32)

2.32 - 8.2 = - 5.88

The answer should be - 5.88
