There are four keys to being a good infielder.

1. Always move your feet to get into position. Get infront of the ball if possible to knock it down if it takes a bad hop.

2. attack the ball and don't let it play you

3. keep your glove out infront of your body when feiling a grounder (not way back between your legs)

4. anticipating that every ball will be hit to you

I coached for about ten years and found that during practice, take about 5 minutes of ground balls either using a glove that has a very small pocket (ex. catchers mitt). this will force you to watch the ball into your glove and to use your throwing hand to cover it up to keep the ball from popping out . they actually make practice gloves that are flat and have no pocket. make sure you are getting into the proper throwing positon with the correct footwork.

Fungo
You need to get a buddy or coach and have him or her hit balls to you grounds to the right and left for a few hours a day. It will be tedious but it will be good training and help you out.
i am 50, so i the 1960s there was no computers and stuff. We played baseball all summer long. Or went to the pool. But we did not have all these luxuries the youth of today have.
So it was drills, baseball games and practice
