well, if you turn the document into a pic then it is possible.
1. have your doc open and fullscreen.
2. press printscreen on your computers keyboard (near insert or delete)
3. go into a program like paint and paste it (Ctrl V) (or edit>paste)
4. Crop the pic how you want it, save it as a pic, and there you go!

If you want to have any random Word document as your background, I would use "save as..." to save the document in HTML format. Active desktop can display HTML files in the background.
However, if you just want pictures in the background, the easiest thing to do would be to edit them into a single image (using Paint for example), and then make that your background image.

I liked McFate's answer. My question for you is, "Why do you want to do this?" If you want text to sit on top of your desktop image then you can use this free program from SysInternals / Microsoft called BgInfo which lets you just put the text you want on the desktop. I use it for to put some phone numbers on my desktop. Anyway, here's a link:

dunno know why you want to do this. anyways, in line with everyone's recommendation i will also give a step by step way to do it
open word doc
press Shift-PrtScreen
open MS paint (found in accessories)
paste into paint
save as .jpg
use Desktop properties to specify the .jpg file as wallpaper

i dnt thnk you can so you might want to just copy and paste them on paint and then set them as your background :d hope iit helps
