Are the "question pool" questions the same as on the actual exam?

Yes, if you have the current book. The current question pool started on July 1, 2006.

It depends on the year of the book. The questions are changed every few years, so you would need a current book to have the current questions.

Take a look here for the current question pools, and compare them to what's in your book:

And yes, the "question pool" questions ARE the same as what's on the actual exam. There are ten times as many questions in the pool, as there are on the exam.

You will be asked to answer 1 question from each group in each subelement in the pool.

You CAN pass the exam by memorizing every question and correct answer in the pool. You will learn a lot in the process.

That's the point, I think...

Not likely the same as examiners do not like to use the same test for several years running.
The question pool questions should be the same difficulty, but as I have never seen either I can not say for sure.
