I can't seem to find a gateway to send a simple text message to a cingular wireless customer here in the US. Is there a secret email address using the person's telephone number as a prefix following by an @ATT.COM? or something similar. My web searches don't seem to get me there. The ATT site is useless as well.
Thanks

You can send a text messaging from your email on your computer to a cingular phone using this address.

ten digit phone number@txt.att.net

(No spaces for ten digit phone number)

If you have AOL instant messenger you can send them a text from your computer to their phone. First, open up a chat window. Type the plus sign, followed by a 1, then type their area code, then the number. Let's say their area code is 212 and their number is 555-5555, you would type:

+12125555555

Then enter your message and send.
