I'm not surprised!
Bob Dylan was booed when he tried some non-acoustic music on stage.
Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble were booed at the Montreux Music Festival.
But people came around eventually!

He was booed off the stage in the Jacksonville Auditorium in Jacksonville, Florida, while he was the opening act for the Monkees. I know--I was there. And no, I didn't boo him.
