I am getting a boat for my 13 year old. She is licensed as a boat driver. I want to get her a small boat, but a motor boat. Any suggestions?

I not sure what you want?
Maybe an inflatable with 8-10 HP? I know people have a lot of fun with these.
Not this; http://www.vitalitywebb.com/pics/challenger-boats.jpg
Something like this, wood floor and transom, etc.; http://www.sz-wholesale.com/uploadFiles/inflatable%20boats%20_Explorer%20Boat_air%20boat_698.jpg

The Boston Whalers mentioned above are good.
It just hard to really give a definite boat. I had a 17 foot Tri-Hull with a 120 HP inboard/outboard when I was 17, but, I worked for a Boat Dealer and it was a used fixer-upper.

Here a Boston whaler I think of, not a high dollar if you find one used, maybe a 40 HP. Heck, her and her friends could actually ski on two skis. It the white boat, best picture I could find.

Now this just a thought. But, have you thought about a small sailboat? This link;

Search under you State!!!!
May find a good boat and put a 10 HP outboard on it. Remember, Gas will get expensive for a boat, and a sailboat she can also learn to sail.
May get lucky and find a cool Daysailer for under $1,000 AND may have a little cuddy cabin to get inside if it rain! :-p

Heck, here just an example and I know it may be more than you want to spend, but, I just make an example;

This in Oklahoma and it have a 9.9 Honda engine. Price some motors for boats!!!! Heck she be the Captain and be living on this boat. LOL!!!!

the big thing to remember is that she is 13, being her first boat, don't get to extravagant. It needs to be dependable, stable, and most importantly don't go overboard with something she's going to have struggle to handle. Big boats are great but they're also a chore to launch,load, and handle if the water gets rough quickly. start out with something decent and dependable to see if she even want to continue with the hassle that goes with boating. I used to be a mechanic for a marina and our biggest saying was always " the 2 happiest days of your life are the day you buy the boat and the day you sell it."

Look for a 13,15, or 17' Boston Whaler. Very stable and unsinkable boats.

We got a signature boat, made by hains hunter. These are sporty, have plenty of room, are easy to handle, and most importantly they are very safe.

What approximately "Syren" after the mythological sea-monsters. The Syrens have been the girls who lived in this rock interior the direction of the sea, and that they used to sing to distract the sailors with their wonderful voices and lead them to crash into the rocks.
