That only covers most of the Western Hemisphere! I've heard small Canadian children complain that they didn't want to go to "America" and in Westside Story, there's a song called, "America", *both* clearly referring to the United States!
Now, since we "own" the Western Hemisphere; why shouldn't we draft all the illegal immigrants from Mexico, Columbia, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, China, Korea, Somalia, Muslims from Kosovo, illegal Muslims from the Middle East, Indian immigrants, etc. and conquer the rest? Let's see, we'll send the Mexican illegals to subdue Antarctica, the Canucks to take Australia, Somalians to take over the continent of Africa, Kosovosians Europe, Cubans and Colombians Central America, Brazilians S. America, Mideastern illegals the Middle East, Indians the sub-continent of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka, Koreans & Chinese Asia. Since we're the world's *only* superpower left, why shouldn't we own it all? ;)

It's called the "United States of America". It's often simply called "America" by people from all around the world as a simple nickname. No one has ever said that the US is "the only real America." There are a lot of logical, realistic reasons to dislike the US. Please find a good reason to hate America before you decide to hate them rather than deciding to hate America and then looking for a reason.

The American continents were named after Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian explorer and cartographer. If you want to be upset with someone for screwing up your life, I think you'd have to go further back and perhaps look in Europe.

Rather arrogant isn't it. I was born here and have wondered the same thing. Let's hope American can get over herself and start taking ownership for her own problems and God knows they are many, then she may began to think about offering other nations advice on how to govern, and only if they ask for it, not by trying to shove it down there throats.
