If the Scots had been "sensitized" in proportion to the amount of abuse they absorbed from the Romans, Danes and English over the last 2,000 years, they'd probably be hidden in the mountains sending out warriors to bomb and maim every other peoples on Earth! As it is, with their keen sense of humor, they only inflict the bagpipes on us!

Please, dear Scottish kith and kin, keep laughing! Ah, the pipes, the pipes are callin'...

Yep mate, I agree 100% with you, but unfortunatly there are people within the Answers community that are unable to understand, or maybe they don`t want to understand, that other people can have different viewpoints. i know we differ on our opinions on a couple of things, but like toitmoi your answers are reasoned and I can respect that. It is a shame because some people come on slagging people off as `a piece of dirt and `you are scum`, they try to besmirch people by claiming they come from poor estates in Glasgow like Pollok or Easterhouse. The worst ones though are people who hide behind their anonimity , they have no 360, no email contact, no profile info and keep their Q+As private. These people then slag off the integrity of other users and try to get them to disclose their private information and jobs. These people re the worst. I am always free to talk to. Anyone who has an open email address is free to talk to me. I even have a 360, it is a shame the facists on 360 don`t operate in such open terms, but facists never do, do they.

Jim G. I am glad to have a debate with anyone, but I don`t debate with people who try to intimidate other people into silence whilst trying to hide their own agenda. Learn to play by the rules of the other users in Answers, accept that not everyone will agree with your views, help to remove the extremists of Answers and make it a community to be proud of. Jim when you learn these things I will happily unblock you, but until then you will remain off limits to me. I will not tolerate the sort of language you used to me last night from anyone in trying defend one of the most vile and racist people currently using the Answers system.

Hello Saiorse. You are not sad...you are a rock of sense.

I am Irish and I remember the Englishman, Irishman ,and Scotsman jokes, and almost always the Irishman came out the worse for wear.....but we laughed at the joke and didn't feel offended.

Thank goodness there are plenty of sane sensible people out there who refuse to be told what words they may or may not use, and where and when they may use them...... And just imagine the kerfuffle caused if the above jokes had other races in them and were told today. It is high time that people were taught to take a joke again and relax a little and learn to give and take, and laugh at themselves sometimes.

The PC brigade have been trying to convince people to be offended by just about everything for years. It seems to be working because we are turning into a nation of pious prigs. Some of
us, however, continue to fight a rearguard action!

Ask the loony left about that one. EDIT ; Now come on Middenraker, it goes both ways, there are answerers with views akin to your's who hide their Q/A, I hide mine not because I'm a racist, as you seem to think but, because some of my views would be twisted by some on your side, look what they have done to the McCann's and, why have you blocked me from your question's, I'm not as nasty as you think, I WILL have an adult debate with you if you give me a chance.

ACLU type of people, people with no sense of humor. there's a line between humor and sincere insult/degradation. unfortunately in this age of feel good, it's all been lumped together.

its sad we are being told what to say when to smoke, be when to eat next, and when we can go out of the house, what time we are in, or we will get tagged, and were all going along with it like lambs to the slaughter, i feel our freedon of living slipping away from us,

I really don't know why so many have gone so P.C these days, it's so sad when you can't laugh at yourself. i will probably get slated for this but being of your age I was brought up with Scotsman, Englishman and Irishman jokes and we were encouraged to laugh at ourselves, your not sad mate, just stating a point that many think about. :-)
P.S Scottish if you can't tell lol :-)

Additional Info:
Wow, look at the P.C brigade thumbing us down for having humour.....now that is SAD....:-)
