Depends on how unique. I don't agree with unheard of names because I think the child has a harder time in life. I know 2 friends with very "unique" names and they hate it. They use their middle name when introducing themselves because they're sick of people saying "What!?" I also think a company would rather hire a Joy rather than a Mikaelay or a Raine.

Sometimes it's akward to have an unusual name like me, it's Zainab haha because living in the United States and having a foreign name...well, it gets kinda weird. But sometimes it's really cool because people just love how it's so different.

I was reading a Russian novel when i had my daughter & just had to name her from one of the characters. We haven't come across anyone else with this name. People ask her to repeat & spell her name. More often than not they dont pronounce it right. Once teachers have got her name they never forget it. She says she could do with a lot less attention on this name front . Poor baby & its my fault :-)

well my name is not that unique anymore, I'm starting to hear it a lot more. but nobody in the world spells it the way i do. so i guess it'll always be unique.
and i do like my name, i think it's mostly because it's not as common still and a lot of other names!

Well my name isn't unique.
But I know alot of people with unique names, and they all seem to like them.
It seems to me the people with the unique names are always the people with the unique personalities/styles.
