I am 48 years old now. But my twin sister and I were adopted when we were about 1 year old by parents who were 45 and 48. I had the BEST childhood and their age did not make a difference. The only thing slightly different was that we were brought up by stricter standards and raised to have morals and empathy for others maybe moreso than our friends. (plus our curfew at night was a little earlier). I think parents who have children at an older age are FAR more ready to raise kids the right way. Congratulations! I say go for it! I am so happy that two little babies out there will have the chance at a happy life with the two of you! You will be blessed with so many happy memories of your life and so will they!

My niece and her husband are both around the same age as you two and have 4 sons, they are adopting and 8 year old daughter. There are lots of children that need homes. If you both want to do it and can give a child a loving home, why not. I would suggest parenting classes and counseling to prepare for parenthood.
My only suggestion about your age is for you to consider how old you will be when the kids finally turn 18 and need money for college and you are wanting to retire etc...if you are alright with that, go for it.

There is nothing wrong with your ages. As long as your both secure and have a solid relationship. There are alot of different options with adoptions and usually if you are in good health and have a solid foundation you should have no problems.
Another avenue with adoption is there alot of "special" needs children of all ages and it doesnt cost you anything except for maybe the paperwork for court that you file. Check with your local social services about adoptions in your area if your interested.
Alot of times the state has placed these children in foster care homes and always looking for loving parents to adopt them. good luck.

I think it's wonderful that your looking to adopt! My sister was adopted and I think it's a great thing for people to do. I don't think that your ages are an issue at all. It seems like many people are having children later in life. I would say go for it! You will be helping out the children that you bring into your lives as well as making yourselves happy. =) Good Luck to you both!

Well,my man and I are getting married at Christmas. He is 46 and I am 30, we are thinking about having a child together. He has 4 grown daughters . Hes a wonderful man and has been an exceptional father to his girls. I don't think its too late or that we are too old to love and raise a child. And so I don't think you and your husband are either. I wish you all the luck in the world. Loving a child doesn't have anything to do with age.

i understand how exciting a toddler could be, yet a toddler is often high priced. If I have been you i might hear on your husband. If he feels which you 2 are no longer financially waiting for a toddler, then you definately ought to attend. unexpected economic issues can take a toll on a courting. yet this might take much greater of a toll on the courting whilst one social gathering has already voiced which you 2 are no longer financially good now. merely wait, in case you wait you will want so lots greater to offer your bouncing kit of exhilaration, plus, your loved ones merely isn't residing in a straing and you merely isn't going against your husband's desires with the aid of fact the previous asserting is going: sturdy issues come to those that wait.
