Losing really hurts, but i'd be even more hurt if I had never loved, or been loved.

It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
You are a better person for it !

It was a lousy film, but it did contain one little bit of wisdom uttered by that rather good actor Tommy Lee Jones.

In Men In Black when TLJ is looking at a video of his lost love, WS says..
"You know what they say? Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."
TLJ gives him a withering look and says...
"Try it."

I wouldn't normally recommend Hollywood as source of wisdom, but I suspect this line may be right. perhaps it is better to never have loved at all. It may be better to be wistful than bitter.

To have loved and lost is better but it depends on what and whom you loved and what you lost(or gained by losing).

That's a tough one.I'd say love WITHOUT the loss would be best,of course. But when we lose in love--it does teach us and we take something from it.So,the 1st is better;)
