Excellent.
1) As you pointed HUGE swing electorate.
2) General lack of any Viable main-stream Republican at this point.
3) Huge Ground swell for "first X" Presidential candidates.
4) Historical Level of ambivalance towards government.

about 1 in a billion. the presidency is bought like a commodity by special interest groups. and those special interest groups do not see the viability of an independent candidate otherwise you would see 3rd party candidates in more national elections. it's just a mild inconvenience to those special interest groups that we the people get to vote. but if you look at national elections the one who raises the most money wins just about every time.

The only way a third party will even graze the election scene is if Bloomberg enters with Hagel.

I would love to see one win, but I don't think people can break free mentally. John Anderson got 20% in 1968, and that was amazing!!

Zero and none. You can't even get on the ballot or qualify for matching funds! What do you propose to run a campaign with?

Little too late!!

impossible. you need too much money and all the indi's are split amongst a whole bunch of parties. 2 party system here, til we're fed up enough. i don't think we are yet.
