This is a fantastic question i Definitely agree with this statement look at all these celebrities on the red carpet..... that have hit 40 they look in better shape then some of the 20 year old Demi Moore do i need to go on I definitely agree.....

A very interesting question presented here. Hollywood is not a great example for anyone to follow. A majority of the stars care about (especially women) looking good, to get the acting jobs. There's always someone waiting in the wings to replace them, so they have to have smooth faces of 40 and wrinkled necks and hands of 60 yr. old's.
I believe that 40 is the new 30 for people who exercise, don't get burnt to a crisp, don't smoke and don't live a stressful life trying just to make ends meet.
I work with the public 6 days a week and have observed, people who live on the edge of poverty, seem to age faster.
Our lives are so different than several generations ago. We have conveniences for everything, the more money a person has, the easier life is.

I think it's ridiculous. That implies that 30 is somehow BETTER than 40. Foolish. If you're 40,be 40 and be happy you're not dead.

sure. there are a lot of beautiful women and great looking guys in their 40's. not just in hollywood, either.

It may very well be true in Hollywood where plastic surgeons are the same as gods, but I'm not seeing it in the supermarket.

I know compared to my mother at my age (48) I'm probably 15 years behind her on the slide into middle age... health wise, sex life wise, energy levels, everything, so I'd say that's about right.
