Dear Journal,
Today wuz such a wundrful day. i had some greasy fried chicken, my fave. lol. and my bf just asked my to marry him. so for our pre-honeymoon we went to KFC and then got sme more chicken and bisctuits and took them {secretly} in to the movies. we wuz gettin out grub on.

If the journal is for school, don't use ANY textspeak. Have you ever read Anne Frank's "Diary of a Young Girl," familiarly known as the Diary of Anne Frank? She calls her diary (another word for journal) Kitty. And every entry begins "Dear Kitty," Just write as if you're writing to a friend, but use good grammar and spelling. Of course, you don't have to include secrets that you don't want anyone to know.
