Whatever you save in taxes will probably be eaten up in heating bills. MT winters are BRUTAL!

You have to evaluate the total cost of living and the cost of the move and compare it to your current situation to see if it makes sense. Too many folks focus on taxes alone and fail to consider ALL of the other costs, often to their financial detriment.

Have you checked the tax rates of other states? South Carolina is a decent place to live... I don't know if I would be willing to move for that!

Check the actual difference in tax rates... if its not too big a burden and you really like the RV (as well as where you live) then just shoulder the money.

I supposed if you really can't afford it and you don't want to give up the RV, you could move, but depending on where you move you will be losing some money in the moving process.

some states do this for some crazy reason. I live in florida and my rv taxes are just on my tag as a yearly thing like 50.00 or something I cant remember but its nothing I loose sleep over. I heard mich has really high rates for rvs.

Moving sounds kind of drastic. And if he can afford that level of RV, it would seem he can afford the taxes on it.
