I am visiting the park in July. Would 4 days be enough to see it? If i have only 4 days what are the must see points?

I have been there many many times it is one of my favorite places to go. (I perfer to go in October the park is empty then)

As for 4 days yes you can see the whole park in 4 days.

The best advise I can give is get up early...the best time to see stuff in the summer is early morning as soon as the sun comes up the animals are out walking around and there is not a lot of people out yet.

Also if you have time (about 4 -5 hours) take the drive to Grand Teton national park is great and you only need part of the day to see it. I think it is best to see in the late after noon and to watch the sun set over the tetons. You can drive back in the dark.

AS for yellowstone you must see: The old faithful area ( about 1/2 of a day), Mamoth hot springs, yellowstone falls, the paint pots.

Check out the NPS web site it has lots of maps, videos and photos.

Have a great trip

I have been there about 7 or 8 times. When I have gone I have pretty much seen everything in just one day, usually all day. The park is very large and its a long distance between the main attractions. The drive is on a two lane road with just a few places to pass campers and mobile homes. The drive through the park is kinda shaped like a figure eight (8) with the main attractions being on the west side of the park. You may have to do some doubling back to get to everything. For example, the mamouth hot springs is at the north west entrance to the park. So if you go there you will double back to see other attractions. Then you really need to see The Grand Tetons National Park which is on the South Entrance of Yellowstone. If you drive up from the Salt Lake City area and/or through Jackson Hole you will pass through the Tetons. But if you enter from Cody Wyoming or Gardner Mt you have to drive south out of the park and then back in. If you have a choice of how you leave the park I do recommend the Northeast exit which goes over Bear Tooth Gap. Very scenic.

With four days you will have more than enough time to see things and even go hiking on some of the trails.

Must sees:

Old Faithful and the other geysers in the Norris Geyser Basin.
Tower Falls
Monmouth Hot springs
The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
Firehole river canyon and falls
The Grand Tetons

In my opinion, there is never enough time for Yellowstone. Make sure you get down to Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons. For Yellowstone, drive the loop road and stop often. Hit the major points (Old Faithful, West Thumb, Lake, Canyon, and Mammoth). Check out all the geysers near Old Faithful and Norris. Also make sure you stop by Grand Prismatic. Also check out Mt. Washburn. As for wildlife, Lamar and Hayden Valleys are the best places. Also Swan Lake Flats is popular with Grizzly Bears. There tends to be more bears and wolves in the northern part of the park.

It is a great trip you will always remember. There isn't a day that goes by when I don't think about Yellowstone.

Yellowstone, like many of our national parks is great, go slow and see as much as possible. I cannot mention any one particular special points of interest, as in our two trips there, it all seems wonderful.
The only problem we encountered was the traffic always seems to be in a hurry, and it is sometimes hard to pull over to see the various sights.
Try to go south of the park into the town of Jackson Hole Wyoming, very interesting with a lot of history, and also near the Grand Teton park.

the person-friendly intense temperature in July is around seventy 9 stages. So except you have an extremely peculiar day it would not get boiling warm or something. i will bear in mind seeing some pregnant women human beings walking around while i replaced into final there. there is plenty to work out in Yellowstone with out having to exert your self to plenty, so i might advise heading that way. don't be afraid to take a seat down and relax if mandatory although!
