We all have had dreams before, right?
Well i had a dream the other night and (many more) that my friends were in them. Why is it that i know who they are but i never see a clear picture of there face?????
I also dont get how i know who they are even when i can't see there face (i can see there face....it's just not clear)???

I think the answers lie with the areas of your brain involved in that specific dream. The area involved in the face recognition is not the same as the one involved in speech and auditive memory, which would mean that the last two were the ones active while you were dreaming.

Essentially same reason why some people are good at remembering faces, while others are better at names. But in this case during your dreaming process only.

I've wondered this myself from time to time. Maybe (and this is only speculative) you recognize some psychic essence of familiar people (for lack of a better descriptive term) that is suppressed during normal waking hours in favor of more conventional (five senses based) forms of cognition. I mean, why not?

You brain told you who was there. How much more clear is that?
