I don't know if a modem can be connected with cable to two computers. But you can try and connect the modem to one computer and apply internet connection sharing on the connection. so the other computer will connect to the modem through the first computer. I never used internet connection sharing before, so i don't know if it will work. but you have to connect the computers with a network cable.

connect a router to your modem .. in router you have 4 itherenet port. connect 2 computer ..... like netgear router

If you have your other computer in another room get a receiver that will communicate with the router.

yes with a router which are pretty cheap linksys is a good brand
