everyone says he is an ant eater, but thats impossible because ant eaters have those long snout thingys.

Aardvark and Anteater are the same animal.

So basically, he's both.

EDIT: PBS says Aardvark is an anteater.

Arthur is a aardvark, In the earlier verions of him, he had a big snout but they changed that because he didn't look right to them.
