Two nights ago, I got 7 mosquito bites. Last night, I got 5 more. My fiancee hasn't got any. My mom always told me that mosquitoes liked my sweet blood, but I researched it and found this.
Why do mosquitoes bite? Actually, it is only the females that bite and they do so out of necessity ratther than pleasure. Female mosquitoes seek blood when they are preparing to lay eggs as they need the nourishment to produce healthy offspring. The mosquito's normal diet of plant juices contains none of the proteins a female needs in order to produce her eggs. For that, she needs a concentrated source of protein, which, unfortunately for us, is blood.
If this is true, why do the mosquitoes only bite me?
Also, some of them have started to turn purple. It's acting like a spider bite, and I've never had bites do this.

Could be for several reasons.
One is genetics - some people are just more appealing to mosquitos because of geneic factors. Another is if you eat certain foods. Bananas act like a mosquito magnet - I don't eat bananas between April and October because of it.
Also, perfumes and lotions will actract moquitos.
A couple things to try to help prevent mosquito bites:
Avon skin so soft lotion, just apply lotion to skin like any other lotion.
Bounce dryer sheets, sounds odd, but rub it on your skin and carry a sheet in your pocket (it really does work).
Do not eat bananas!
OFF bug repelant - they now have a new formula that won't leave your skin all sticky either.
BTW, those bites do not look like mosquito bites to me. They may actually be spider or chigger bites. Get some cortizone-10 anti itch cream to help soothe them until they heal.

I'll bet you smell nicer. No- I'm NOT kidding. 10 to 1 - You wear a scent of some kind- that attracts mosquitoes! It could be your bath-soap; perfume; shampoo; deodorant;- whatever. ... Try THIS; go for a day (when you KNOW you'll be Outside -alot) without wearing ANYTHING but clothes. If you STILL get "eaten alive"- then you really DO have a problem! Good luck! :)

Mossies are attracted to heat produced by mammals. ie Warm blooded animals. That means that you're hot. Your boyfriend isn't.
Re the bites, mossies inject anesthetic into your skin, so that you are not aware of the initial poke. By the time you notice the pain of the bite, it's too late. The red blotches will be your skin's reaction to the anesthetic. Try calomine lotion on the area and use repellents to avoid getting bitten.

There are several things that attract mosquitoes: carbon dioxide, heat (warm flesh), possibly ultra-violet rays and some odors. There are pheromones produced by mosquitoes that will attract mosquitoes of the opposite sex. These pheromones are sometimes used in some mosquito killers (machines).
It may be that you are producing some odors that attract mosquitoes, or you produce more carbon dioxide or you give off more heat from exposed skin.

because mosquitos are attracted to perfume, wether your wearing any or not they may be attracted to the perfumes in you shampoo or anything your wearing, guys rarely wear cologne, but spray some on your man next time and watch him get eaten alive !

I get bites like that sometimes when i'm in my backyard. Those bites look normal to me. "Mosquitoes are attracted by perspiration, warmth, body odor, carbon dioxide, and light."I'm not sure why they like you so much :P

Maybe your lotion or perfume is attracting them. Maybe for the season, you should try using a bug repellant.

because you have sweeter blood and more sensitive skin and ur probably skinnier.. ususally mosquitoes go for that..
