I only have liability insurance - does the land lord hold any responsibility? I rent from a large corporation....

Read your contract. You can sue anybody for anything but can you win is the question? Dont throw good money after bad. Hope things work out.

They only have responsibility if it says so in the contract you signed when you rented from them. They probably have in there that they are not responsible for any damaged, lost, or stolen property.

That's a real drag. My guess is you are SOL. I'm sure they carry liability insurance to cover themselves, but probably nothing for theft of personal property of a lessee. I'd give it a shot to see what happens. Maybe you'll get lucky & get something out of it.

You should ask an insurance agent or lawyer for the correct answer but I believe the landlord is responsible in some way.

i'd say u needed renters insurance, my stuff got stolen from my rented house and the owner had no responsibility...sux but i didn't know about it either

No they do not. Most places have you sign something that says they are not responsible for theft, fire, etc.

might want to check your rental agreement, but the way most of them are written, i am afraid you're probably out of luck.
